A Looming Iceberg

The best leaders in our lives are masters at orchestrating beneficial tension into our journey of life! Our God is our sovereign and we have the glorious privilege of trusting His leadership wherever it may lead us! See if you follow the tension I find myself in…

I see on the horizon of life a beautiful but destructive and intimidating iceberg set directly in our future. The description of this “berg” is located throughout the scriptures with an uneasy clarity. I will add a few scriptures here to give some context.

Malachi 4:1; Daniel 9:4-6 and 13-14; Matthew 24; Acts 17:30-31; II Thes.1:6-9; Psalm 105:7-8; Romans 11:33-36; Revelation 16:7; Revelation 18:3-8 …a hundred more!

The iceberg is a “hidden under the surface” reality in our evaluation of life; how do we define ethics and moral standards we face in society and culture? We fill and surround ourselves with the fantasy that we can navigate and manage the “knowledge of good and evil” with sound wisdom and understanding.

Our very perspective of life is tainted and corrupted by sin. In our pattern of thought, is God truly in control of all the circumstances of life? Have you ever had the thought that “God would not have done this or that?” Have we ever thought the leadership of God to be unreasonable? Or that He has left the orchestration of life to us? Why did God let that happen or if God was a loving God, why would He have let that happen? Think of unhealed loved ones or even throw political outcomes in there!...

I believe there is a path to understand our misunderstanding of God! The iceberg we are approaching is the offense that will surely come at the end of the age when God Himself will send 21 judgments on the earth that will cause the most intense struggle humanity has or will ever know. Way beyond an unrighteous leader being put into office or a rampant virus that shuts down an entire globe! Daniel 2:21; Jer.27:5-6; 1 Sam.2:7-8; Prov.8:15-16; Luke 1:51-52; Rev.19:16

While our eyes are fixed on the prosperous way of life that we have connected directly to our Christian faith almost as an entitlement, God is orchestrating a plan to remove all that hinders love between our own evaluation of life and His. The philosophical world that rational men have constructed even within the Church has been exposed as insufficient to answer the problems of humanity. Have we returned to God? God is coming to remove the very foundation of what separates us from Himself and establish a new heavens and a new earth full of His glory and presence with every created thing recognizing His beauty and preeminence.

He is giving grace and mercy in this hour for us to say yes to His leadership and lay aside our entitlement and exaltation of self over the appearance of the “unreasonable” way He is leading. Where does our right to evaluate God’s leadership come from? Are we willing to lay aside our trust in God because we misunderstand or cannot see His leading is reasonable? There will be an hour that all creation will proclaim that He was faithful and true in all of life. Choosing to proclaim today that He is faithful and true even though we lack the full understanding is a glorious gift of laying aside our weak limited perspective and rest in His preeminence!

This is the looming iceberg ahead of us. Offense and betrayal, hatred and deception are all under the surface of our future trust in God if we are not building the reality of our relationship with Jesus today. A challenging day for certain, however Truth is a glorious reality when we fix our gaze on the beauty of Jesus! Are we piercing the thick briers and vines that so easily entangle us with a deceptive grip by stepping into the high standard and call of a simple gospel that leads to life?

Let's get off the spiraling whirlwind of life that is causing us to compromise the amazing design of Father God’s created plan. Let’s be diligent to live holy and blameless while trusting in the Fathers leadership. He is intimately in control of every aspect of life, period! Psalm 40:4-5 states the Truth we can rest in! Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, and does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. Many O Lord my God are your wonderful works which You have done, and Your thoughts toward us cannot be recounted to You in order, if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

We look forward to the promise of a new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells! 2 Pet 3:13. Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless! Let's go there together!

The journey is a long narrow path we follow. Sometimes cold, sometimes hot, but always with a glorious view!
